Building the World of the Wolf Bound Series

One of the questions I get most often is where the idea for the Wolfbound series came from.

The answer is simple: I wanted to create a werewolf world that felt ancient, dangerous, and deeply rooted in mythology while still existing alongside modern society.

Like many readers, I love paranormal romance. I love protective alpha heroes, forbidden attraction, pack politics, and the idea that something wild might still exist just beyond the edge of civilization. But when I began writing Wolfbound, I found myself asking a question:

What if werewolves weren't just a supernatural species?

What if they had their own history, their own faith, and their own kingdoms?

That question became the foundation of the series.

A World Hidden in Plain Sight

In the Wolfbound universe, shifters have existed for thousands of years. Most humans never realize they're there because supernatural society operates in secret.

Packs maintain territories across North America, Europe, and beyond. Some live quietly among humans. Others cling fiercely to old traditions.

The result is a world that feels familiar on the surface—but beneath it lies an entirely different civilization built on loyalty, bloodlines, and power.

The Mythology of Luna and Sunna

At the heart of Wolfbound is an ancient creation story.

According to shifter legend, two sisters shaped the world: Sunna, Goddess of the Sun, and Luna, Goddess of the Moon.

While Sunna brought warmth and life, Luna created the first wolf, Fenrir. From Fenrir came the bloodlines that would eventually become the world's shifter clans. Over centuries, these bloodlines spread across the globe, establishing territories, kingdoms, and traditions that still influence shifter society today.

Like all myths, the stories have changed with time. Some shifters treat them as sacred truth. Others see them as little more than folklore. But whether the legends are fact or faith remains one of the greatest mysteries in the series.

Power, Packs, and Politics

The Wolfbound world isn't simply divided into good and evil. Packs are governed by their own leaders, alliances, and rivalries. Some Alphas rule with fairness. Others rule through fear. Power struggles, old grudges, and competing loyalties often create conflicts that are just as dangerous as any external threat. Characters frequently find themselves caught between personal desires and the expectations of the pack. Sometimes those two things are impossible to reconcile.

Romance at the Center

While I love building complex fantasy worlds, the heart of every Wolfbound novel is still the romance.

Each book follows a different couple as they navigate danger, trust, attraction, and the challenges of life in a supernatural society.

Whether it's a lone wolf who wants nothing to do with pack politics or a prince burdened by centuries of tradition, every character must ultimately decide what they're willing to sacrifice for love.
